December Foreclosure Radar Report sees Dramatic Declines in Activity

According to the December Foreclosure Radar 2009 CA Foreclosure Report saw foreclosure activity drop dramatically in December.  You can review and print the full report by following the link above.

“The dramatic drop in foreclosure activity may have been a Christmas gift to homeowners,” says Sean O’Toole, Founder and CEO of ForeclosureRadar.com, “however, given rising mortgage delinquencies it is becoming increasingly clear that foreclosure activity no longer fully represents market realities”.

San Diego County had 1,938 Notice of Defaults (NOD) filed in December 2009.   November 2009 was 2,290 and 3,277 Notice of Defaults were filed in December of 2008.

2,008 Notice of Trustee Sales were filed, down from 2,119 in November 2009.  Looking back to December 2008 Notice of Sales were at 2,217.

A total of 814 properties went back to the Bank in REO sales with 237 being sold to 3rd party sales on the Courthouse steps.  The previous month had 332 3rd party sales while December of 2008 reported 55 3rd party sales.
